Apple Pay Promo Gives America’s National Parks a Boost

America’s National Parks are getting a big boost from Apple during the month of July in the form of a new campaign aimed at raising awareness to preserve the classic landscapes.

Apple revealed today that it is starting a new Apple Pay promotion aimed at making it easier for anyone to help preserve the country’s national parks. Now whenever you use Apple Pay at any of Apple’s online or physical retail locations the iPhone-maker will donate $1 to the National Park Foundation.

“America’s national parks are an inspiration to us at Apple, and we know they are as important to many of our customers as they are to us,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook in a statement. “Our goal is to leave the world better than we found it, so this July we’re making it easier for anyone to help preserve the beauty of our natural, cultural and historical treasures.”

The Apple Pay promotion will run from July 1 – 15. Proceeds will be funneled to conservation projects and other initiatives. Apple also plans to use the money on enriching youth programming to give youngsters a better appreciation of the outdoors.

Along with the new donations, Apple is also coming out with new activity badges for the Apple Watch. Users can earn unique iMessage sticks by completing certain challenges throughout the month.

On July 15, Apple Watch users around the world can walk, run, or wheelchair workout 3.5 miles to unlock a special sticker. You can also use Apple Pay to get into your favorite parks, now that popular parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and Muir Woods National Monument accept Apple Pay for entrance fees.
