Apple has just released iOS 11 public beta 2 as an over-the-air update for those who are currently testing the latest operating system. If you have public beta 1 installed already, you'll want to install this beta right away, as it provides a fix for some Bluetooth connections and restores the familiar "swipe up" gesture to close apps and access the Control Center on iPad.

Installation is simple this time around. Open your Settings app, click General, and check for an update. As I recommended with my full installation guide, either make sure your backup is still archived or create a new backup to ensure that you have a spot to punt back to if things go wrong with the beta.

The other thing I would recommend is to either plug in your device or top off the battery. It can take a long time to install an OS update and your phone dying in the middle of the process can have major negative consequences. Especially considering that battery life still isn't optimized in iOS 11, you'll need to take extra care to make sure the installation goes smoothly.

So, what's in public beta 2? It looks like in addition to the bug fixes I mentioned above, we're getting additional genders, nationalities, and voices for Siri. The Wi-Fi toggle in the Control Center now disconnects you from your current network and disables Wi-Fi networking. The 3D Touch options for the Camera icon are also improved.

Overall chatter from the Developer beta 3 has been positive, so I'm hoping there will be fewer bugs to report this time around. Still, remember that this is pre-release hardware. Things can and will go wrong. Use the Feedback app often and happy bug hunting!
