Apple has published detailed warranty information for its new AirPods that went on sale this week, including pricing for a replacement if you happen to lose one of the cord-free wireless earbuds.

On it’s webpage for repair pricing for iPhone, Apple now has a section dedicated to AirPods that details requirements and pricing for battery replacements, including what’s covered under the one year hardware warranty and what’s not.

Apple notes that it will cover issues including defective batteries on both AirPods and the charging case under the One Year Limited Warranty it provides with all hardware. Otherwise, however, it will be charging $49 for battery service on the AirPods and charging case, including if you want to replace the battery after its capacity inevitably decreases over time.

If you need service for your AirPods or charging case, there’s no charge if the issue is covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty or consumer law… Our warranty covers a defective battery, but it doesn’t cover wear from normal use.  If the battery capacity on your AirPods or charging case decreases over time, you can replace them for a battery service fee… If your AirPods or charging case get damaged accidentally, you can pay an out-of-warranty fee. And if you lose an AirPod or your charging case, we can replace your lost item for a fee.

Apple is also charging $69 to replace a single AirPod if you happen to lose one, and the same price for a lost charging case, which was a big topic conversation when Apple first unveiled the new cord-free earbuds. The AirPods sell for $159 new and come with the charging case.
