Chris Evans Spotted on Set of Upcoming Apple TV Show

Captain America star Chris Evans is already hard at work on his next project now that Avengers: Endgame is nearly ready to hit theaters.

Evans was spotted on the set of his upcoming TV series, Defending Jacob, which is being made for Apple TV+. Evans shaved his beard for Endgame but it looks like it’s making a comeback in the Apple TV series.

Apple green-lit Defending Jacob last September. It’s expected to be one of the first shows that will be part of the Apple TV+ streaming service that launches later this fall. Filming is currently underway in Natick, Massachusetts.

The show is a miniseries that stars Evans as the father of a young boy accused of murder. Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery will play the mom while Jaeden Martell from It plays Jacob. Evans is also an executive producer on the show.

Defending Jacob is based on the best-selling novel by William Landry that came out back in 2012. This will be Evans’ first non-movie role since he starred in the Opposite Sex miniseries back in 2000.

These are some of the first on-set pictures we’ve seen from Apple’s TV shows. Steve Carell and Jennifer Aniston were recently spotted filming their show, The Morning Show, in downtown Los Angeles. Apple gave a small glimpse of some of its TV shows during its big keynote last month, but full trailers haven’t been released yet.
