Last week we heard from a team of Barclays analyst that Apple will be removing 3D Touch on all 2019 iPhone models. However, it seems the pressure-sensitive tech inside the iPhone is here to stay. That’s right, Apple has confirmed that the 3D Touch will not be removed in iOS 13 in favor of Haptic Touch. Let’s dive in to see some more details on the matter.
In the first iOS 13 beta build, we can not perform the 3D Touch operation. While Quick Action menus still pop up if you tap and hold, the pressure-sensitive element is absent. Turns out it’s a bug, not a removal of the feature entirely. A Twitter user emailed Apple’s Senior VP of Software Engineering, Craig Frederighi asking about the removal of the 3D Touch feature in iOS 13. The Apple executive replied that 3D Touch not working is a bug. Moreover, he also suggested that users try it in the forthcoming beta build.
