The following are the detailed steps to use the palera1n jailbreak tool to jailbreak the iOS 15.0 - 16.3.1 system through Mac:
Step 1: Click the link below to download palera1n and save it to your downloads folder.
Step 2: Open Terminal from the Applications > Utilities folder.
Step 3: Execute the following command in a terminal window: cd ~/Downloads
sudo mv ./palera1n-macos-universal /usr/local/bin/palera1n
If prompted, enter your administrator password.
sudo xattr -cr /usr/local/bin/palera1n
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/palera1n
Step 4: If the jailbroken device is running iOS 16 and a password has been set, all content and settings must be cleared before jailbreaking.
Passcodes must be disabled on A11 devices, and passcodes or related features such as Face ID/Touch ID and Apple Pay will not be available during operation.
Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Transfer or Reset iPhone" > "Erase All Content and Settings", make sure to back up your iPhone before following these steps.
Step 5: Connect the jailbroken device to the computer.
If using a USB-C to Lightning cable, you may need to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter and a USB-A to Lightning cable, as some USB-C to Lightning cables may not allow you to put your iPhone into DFU mode.
Step 6: Execute the following command palera1n -cf in a terminal window.
At this moment, the device will enter recovery mode and then prepare to enter DFU mode.
When you're ready to enter DFU mode, tap the Return key on your keyboard.
As prompted, press and hold the Volume Down and Side buttons for about five seconds, then release the Side button and continue to hold the Volume Down button until you enter DFU mode.
Step 7: palera1n will detect the device in DFU and start performing the jailbreak.
At this point, your device will reconnect in download mode.
You may receive the following error:
ERROR: Timed out waiting for download mode (error code: -status_exploit_timeout_error)
To resolve this issue, unplug the cable from your iPhone and reconnect it.
Step 8: After creating fakefs (5 minutes), the device will reboot.
Go back to the terminal window and execute the following command to jailbreak palera1n in rootful mode -f
Your device will enter recovery mode again in preparation for entering DFU mode.
When you're ready to enter DFU mode, press the Return key on your keyboard.
As prompted, press and hold the Volume Down and Side buttons for about five seconds, then release the Side button and continue to hold the Volume Down button until DFU mode is detected.
Step 9: After detecting your iPhone in DFU mode, palera1n will continue to run, at which point your device will reconnect again in download mode.
You may also receive the error message you encountered earlier: Waiting for download mode timed out (error code: -status_exploit_timeout_error).
Also, unplug the data cable from the iPhone and reconnect it, wait and palera1n will continue to run.
Step 10: At this point, the iPhone will reboot again and the palera1n app will be added to Springboard after reboot.
NOTE: This may take 10-20 seconds.
Next click Launch palera1n app.
Step 11: Click the install button to jailbreak.
Step 12: When finished, click the Repring button to re-enter the jailbroken state.
Step 13: The Sileo package manager will now be installed on the Springboard.
Tap to launch Sileo and install the tweak on your jailbroken iPhone to complete the jailbreak.
