If you already have a Qi charger, you can get the same wireless charging functionality on your AirPods for as little as $3. This tutorial is mainly introducing how to add wireless charging to your Airpods.

3 Steps to Add Wireless Charging to Your Airpods

Preparation:

$2 Wireless Charging pad

$1 Airpods Case

Step1: Unpack the charging pad. You need to remove the outer of the charging pod you purchased.

Use your nails to pry open the cover from the top and then gently remove the entire plastic cover. What you’ll be left with are a copper charging coil, the electronics board, and a short Lightning cable.

Step2: Wrap charging pad on AirPods. Unpack one layer of the copper coil so that there’s a bit of distance between the coil and the board.

Now, take some scotch tape and stick the board and the copper wire to the AirPods. Put the AirPods on your Qi charger (with the coil facing downwards) to check if the AirPods are charging.
